As Autumn/Winter approaches we are running a few social events to help promote the Twin Town Association and create interest within the community (as well as ensuring a good time for members!)
The Stammtisch vote returned the19th October as the preferred date at the Pico Lounge at 4pm. This is a free event for anybody who speaks German (no matter at what level) and we hope to see you there.
We will be holding an Oktoberfest evening on Friday, 24th October, 2025 at the Partington Theatre Clubroom in Henry Street SK13 8BW The event will start at 7.45pm with music provided throughout the evening by the Old Glossop Band. The ticket cost is £12 and includes a bratwurst plus accompaniments (vegetarian option is available). A full licensed bar is available serving German beers and wines plus all the usual beverages you’d expect. Tickets are available now from Dark Peak Books in High Street West and the Glossop Labour Club. You may also order via e mail and details are on the poster.
On 26th October the German film night at the Partington Theatre will be “Victoria”. This is a crime/thriller about a Spanish girl arriving in Berlin who becomes embroiled in a bank robbery. The film is in German with English subtitles. Start time is 6.30pm and finishes at 9.30pm. Tickets are available from the Partington website and priced from £6.
Then finally, to end the social year, we will be holding a members’ Christmas event at Glossop Labour Club on November 30th. Details will be communicated soon.
